The CEO of a Fortune 150 company wanted to energize a complacent leadership team and mobilize them to pursue some ambitious new initiatives.
ACTION PLAN
Brad Nixon and his team redesigned the CEO’s annual executive meeting agenda, shifting the focus to determining specific goal-oriented assignments to be carried out after the meeting. To increase participation and promote active engagement by the attendees, the team transformed the meeting space into an intimate arena setting that compelled all attendees to participate. There was no shying away from engagement.
RESULTS
The new forum proved effective in promoting active participation in the discussions. The CEO and the executives attending the meeting responded to a post-event survey with high marks for the new format. They appreciated being included in a strategic discussion, rather than simply listening to presentations. The new agenda and setting became the model for future occurrences of the event.
